Striker Andrew Johnson and Andy van der Meyde, who limped out of Friday's 1-1 draw with Nottingham Forest, were not part of the travelling group.

Mikel Arteta, who also picked up a knock at the City Ground, has travelled and there were also places for youngsters Jose Baxter, Lukas Jutkiewicz and Jack Rodwell.

David Moyes' side face a tough ten-day training schedule as well as matches against Chicago Fire (Wednesday 30 July) and Colorado Rapids (Sunday 3 August).
