GOLF: PGA: Shacklady Killer!

/noticias.info/ David Shacklady, one of the favourites in this week's Glenmuir PGA Professional Championship at Moortown, warmed up with a sensational course record in a PGA North Region pro-am at Knott End.

The 41-year-old Lancastrian, attached to Mossock Hall, fired 10 birdies in a nine-under-par 60 to clip three shots off the old mark - equalled earlier in the day by Myerscough College's Richard Daniels and set by Chorley's 2006 North Region champion Mark Bradley.

Shacklady, dubbed the Pro-am King and the most prolific winner on the circuit, has lost count of not only his victories but his records!

But the one which will also stick in his memory was the nine-under 62 at Montrose which earned him a place in last year's Open Championship at Carnoustie.

Daniels was runner-up at Knott End as Marriott Worsley Park's Blake Toone took third prize on 66. notas_de_prensa_archivo
