NEC Establishes LTE Demonstration Center
/noticias.info/
Tokyo, July 30, 2008 - NEC Corporation announced today that it has established an LTE (Long Term Evolution) demonstration center at its Tamagawa offices (Kawasaki-city) for customers planning to install LTE systems.
The center enables NEC to demonstrate high quality, end to end LTE systems that are comprised of subscriber terminals, core networks, application servers and wireless access products, such as flat architecture (*1) compact base stations and remote radio equipment.
Following careful deliberation, NEC was selected by NTT DoCoMo as a vendor for the development and manufacture of “Super 3G” wireless base station equipment and “Super 3G” mobile handsets. The selection illustrates NTT DoCoMo’s regard for NEC’s extensive track record as a reliable and experienced total solutions provider in the mobile business field.
Furthermore, in February 2008, NEC and Alcatel-Lucent agreed to form a joint venture that focuses on expeditious development and delivery of LTE wireless broadband solutions for communications providers throughout the world.
NEC will capitalize on the cutting edge LTE facility to offer customers first-hand experience with advanced mobile technologies that provide high speed/high volume data communication with reduced latency.
NEC will also continue to contribute to the ongoing development of next-generation mobile technologies by providing innovative mobile solutions for markets spanning the globe.
(*1) flat architecture: One of the main features of LTE systems. LTE network architecture is less complex than a 3G system and provides high speed/high volume data communication with reduced latency and greater cost efficiency for network construction. notas_de_prensa_archivo
