AC MILAN: A SUMMER CLASSIC

The ´Trofeo Tim´ returns: tonight, starting from 20.30, in Turin Milan, Juve, and Inter will face each other in the classic triangular tournament. It starts with Milan-Juve.

/noticias.info/ MILAN - The big teams of Italian football, Milan, Juventus, and Inter will face each other tonight in Turin in a triangular tournament which is a true anticipation of the league.

Inaugurated in 2001, the Trofeo Tim has reached its eighth edition. The formula sees three matches of 45 minutes each, with penalties in case of a draw at the end of normal time. This year the summer Gala will be held for the first time at the Olympic stadium in Turin, after three editions at San Siro, three in Trieste and one at Ancona.
The tournament was won most often by Inter, who won on five occasions: twice it was won by Milan, never by Juventus. Last year the Nerazzurri won both matches: against Milan the winning goal was by Recoba, against Juve they won on penalties. In the other match Ancelotti's team beat Juve with a goal by Gilardino, now at Fiorentina.
