EVERTON FC: STEVE SEES SPIRIT

/noticias.info/ New assistant manager Steve Round is impressed by the spirit in the Everton camp.

The former Newcastle and England coach joined the Toffees last month, and having already spent time on tour with the players in both Switzerland and the USA he has drawn confidence from the togetherness he’s witnessed.

“They’re enjoying being together and the spirit is fantastic," he told evertonTV. "They’re all together and the banter’s pretty sharp to say the least.

“This is where you form your spirit and your togetherness for the season and that’s so important.”

Round has guided the squad through two days of training since arriving in Chicago.

Although he concedes jetlag left the players tired at first, he believes they are rapidly approaching top condition.

“They were very tired on Sunday when we’d flown out, but today [Monday] we’ve had two very good, very hard sessions. We really put them through it and the lads are now moving towards peak physical fitness.”
