Football Europe: Den Haag make move for Mols
/noticias.info/ Eredivisie side ADO Den Haag have announced the signing of Michael Mols. The 34-year-old will ink a one-year deal later in the week after passing a medical, and joins on a free transfer from FC Utrecht. The former Dutch international rejoined Utrecht last summer, after five years with Scottish champions Rangers FC, and scored once in 14 Eredivisie appearances in 2004/05.
Also in the Netherlands, second division champions Heracles Almelo have acquired Rob Maas from MSV Duisburg. The experienced 35-year-old midfielder, who has spent the last nine years in Germany with DSC Arminia Bielefeld, Hertha BSC Berlin and Duisburg, has signed a one-year deal.
West Bromwich Albion FC have strengthened their midfield for the forthcoming English Premiership campaign by paying Birmingham City FC €2.2m for Darren Carter. The English Under-21 international has put pen to paper on a three-year contract with the option of a further season.
The 29-year-old Danish left-back Ulrik Laursen has returned to Odense BK after five seasons in Scottish football. After a spell with Hibernian FC, Laursen moved to Celtic FC for €2m in July 2002. He has now agreed to spend the next four years with OB, where he played 97 Danish Superleague games in the 1990s.
Toulouse FC midfielder Nabil Taïder has broken his foot and could be out for four months. The 22-year-old, who has 125 Ligue 1 matches under his belt, suffered the injury in pre-season training and had surgery in Paris on Monday. Toulouse have also released Brazilian midfielder Eduardo, who is set to return home after five years in Europe. The 25-year-old had three seasons in Belgium with R. Charleroi SC and then scored eight goals in 57 league games for Toulouse.
Another French youngster with foot trouble is OGC Nice's Kamel Larbi. The 20-year-old forward, who has made 15 Ligue 1 outings, fractured a bone in his foot a week after signing his first professional contract and will be sidelined for six weeks.
Hertha BSC Berlin's Danish Under-21 international Dennis Cagara will spend 2005/06 on loan at 2. Bundesliga team 1. FC Dynamo Dresen. The 20-year-old left-back did not feature for Hertha last season. Also going on loan to a second division club is VfL Borussia Mönchengladbach goalkeeper Sead Ramovic, who has joined Kickers Offenbach FC for a year.
Albania defender Tefik Osmani, 20, has switched to Ukrainian Premier League side FC Metalurh Zaporizhya on a two-year contract from KS Elbasani. Another Albanian international moving abroad is striker Alban Bushi, who has agreed a one-year deal with promoted Greek outfit Levadiakos FC. The 31-year-old, who has managed 13 goals in 54 appearances for his country, leaves Turkish Superleague team Istanbulspor AS after five seasons.
